In 2000 the citizens of Campbellford/Seymour changed their community forever. With foresight and wisdom, and through public discussion, the community elected to allocate the proceeds of the sale of their 100-year-old public utility to the Campbellford/Seymour Community Foundation (C/SCF).
The Foundation, registered as a charity in January of 2001, was then mandated to ensure that the funds were used for the common good — to benefit everyone in the community. Today, the legacy of that momentous decision is the positive and lasting impact that the Campbellford/Seymour Community Foundation is having on the community as a whole. Since our first granting in 2003 we have invested over $4 million towards community projects!
Champion the gifts of energy, ideas and money to enhance meaningful and lasting impacts through grants, stewardship, leadership and partnership that benefit our community.
A strong, healthy, connected, inclusive and caring community.
The Campbellford/Seymour Community Foundations strives to live by our values each and every day by:
A community foundation belongs to the community it serves and the Campbellford/Seymour Community Foundation belongs to you, your family, your friends and neighbours.
Community foundations bring together people who care about their communities. They are independent, volunteer-driven, charitable organizations that aim to strengthen their communities by facilitating philanthropy, by partnering with donors to build permanent endowments and other funds from which they support community projects, and by providing leadership on issues of broad community concern.
Your Campbellford/Seymour Community Foundation has touched the lives of everyone in this community. We truly have become the best place to live, work, learn and grow!
To date, CSCF has granted approximately $4 million to local charities with the forethought of creating a well-rounded community. These grants will provide much-needed funding to develop the local arts, music and sports scene, to create green space and accessibility, and to ensure a thriving, healthy Campbellford/Seymour.
