Gifts to the Campbellford/Seymour Community Foundation benefit the entire community. Since 2003 we have been able to invest millions of dollars in community projects. But we couldn’t have done it without you — our community members and partners. The generosity of our donors has contributed to strengthening and building our community bonds.
Why give to a Community Foundation? Here are 10 reasons.
There are so many ways to support your Community Foundation. We recommend that you work with a Professional Advisor to organize your legacy giving. Below are some options for giving. Click on a Donate Now button and then you can choose from one our established funds by clicking on the drop-down menu on the donor form.
Make a contribution to help strenghten your community. We have a number of established funds to choose from - you can support the interest that has the most meaning to you, such as the arts, the environment, social programs, education, recreation and more.
Join the Community Foundation as a monthly donor and invest in long-term solutions to benefit your community. Your monthly donation will provide a consistent and reliable source of funding for grants from our established funds. Again, you can support the interest that has the most meaning to you.
Donate in honour or in memory of a loved one. You can choose to contribute to one of our established funds that supports an interest that had meaning to your loved one.
A donation of securities or mutual fund shares is the most efficient way to give charitably. When you donate the shares directly, you owe no capital gains tax and you are able to donate the full value.
You can donate a life insurance policy to the Community Foundation, and pay over a period of time, or in a lump sum. Your premiums are considered a charitable donation and will earn a tax credit. Contact the CSCF office for more information.
Making a charitable gift of real estate to a community foundation can help you turn a valuable asset into community good. Charitable gifts of real estate range from personal residences, vacation homes, rental properties, farmland, ecologically sensitive and commercially developed land. Contact the CSCF office for more information.
Establish a fund in your name, or in the name of your family, your organization, or anyone you wish to honour. All grants distributed from your fund - today and in the future - are then awarded to charities in the name of your fund. It's a great way to always be involved with, and remembered for, your community investment.
If you prefer to give with others who share your interests we have collective giving options through our established endowment funds. Your gift is pooled in a fund that will help it grow and generate income over time, enabling more grants to be given now and forever.
Once you have provided for your family and loved ones, you may want to consider a bequest in your Will to the Community Foundation. This investment in your community will have an impact that lasts beyond your lifetime.
A business may find it advantageous to use the Campbellford/Seymour Community Foundation as a vehicle for its community giving.
A geographic-based community fund is a great opportunity for citizens to give back to their local community. Led by community members, donations of all sizes are pooled together into a single fund, called a Smart & Caring Community Fund, that supports charitable causes in your local area for generations.
