On July 15th, 2017 the Rotary Club of Campbellford hosted a pancake breakfast at Old Mill Park for the Trent Hills Canada 150 Flotilla. Flotilla participants received a free breakfast before launch, and then residents and visitors were able to partake in breakfast and watch the boats depart. Over 300 people enjoyed pancakes with local maple syrup, sausages, orange juice and coffee.
Rotary exchange students from Germany and Belguim were excited to help serve this traditional Canadian breakfast. Our local exchange student, who had just returned from a year in Brazil, was also on-hand to share stories of her experience.
With our grant funding from the Community Fund for Canada's 150th, we were able to update our griddle and BBQ, as well as purchase batter dispensers and best of all, local maple syrup ! This new equipment will allow us to continue our tradition of hosting our annual Canada Day pancake breakfast, as well as provide our services to other community organizations for fundraising events. Rotary Club members loved the new griddle as it allowed for more efficient cooking and quicker service.
Thank you to our partners - The Campbellford/Seymour Community Foundation, and the Trent Hills Chamber of Commerce , for providing an opportunity for the Rotary Club of Campbellford to continue to "Make a difference in our Community".
